Mr. Algorithm in Meta Headquarters

An animation I made yesterday targeting instagram reels. It 100% accurately describes what happens when you post on instagram as a small artist.

Here's Mr. Algorithm. He works for facebook/meta/instagram. And he makes sure you don't get any views. He loves misinformation, and Kim Kardasshians ass, and really hates my work, so he only shows it to about 30 people.

In terms of design, I whipped him up pretty quickly, a skeletal face with devil horns and red instagram logo eyes. A skinny metal frame, with a fair amount of exposed cables in the midsection. He spends his time locked away in a dark room in Meta Headquarters, deciding what gets seen, and what doesn't. It's his purpose, and he loves it.

Originally he had few fingers, to visually illustrate his incompetence when dealing with spammers and scammers on the site. But I added a full five so that he could give you the middle finger in the animation.

Meta Headquarters was designed to kinda give an old school supervillain lair vibe, kind of cartoonishly evil. Whats more evil than a big skull carved into a mountain, surrounded by fog and snow ominously lit by mysterious red light?
